Krabi Krabong

Krabi Krabong is another Thai martial art with a weapon. The weapons are totally 9 /including 3 types of shields/ but the most important ones are: Krabi /sword/, Plong /stick/, Ngao /sharp stick/ and Mae Sun Sawk /pair of clubs/. The fighters learn to use each of them against any other weapon.

The idea of having so many weapons in Krabi Krabong is that in a multi-opponent combat there is corresponding weapon with a different range of attack and defence. Nowadays the demonstrations for tourist attraction are blood and wound free. You can go and watch the impressive grace and skillfulness the Thai fighters are using the weapons.
